Pre-Treatment Instructions

Follow these steps to prepare your skin and body for treatment:

Avoid Sun Exposure & Artificial Tanning (14 Days Prior)

Do not expose your skin to direct sun, tanning beds, or self-tanners for at least 2 weeks before treatment. Sun exposure can increase the risk of hyperpigmentation, burns, and delayed healing.

Discontinue Retinoids & Hydroquinone (3 Days Prior)

Stop using retinoids, hydroquinone, and other active skincare ingredients in the treatment area for 3 days before your appointment to avoid irritation or heightened sensitivity.

Hydrate Well (Start 2 Days Before)

Drink at least 64 oz of water daily starting 2 days before treatment to keep your skin hydrated from within and support optimal healing.

Pre-Treat with Antiviral Medication (If Applicable)

If you're prone to cold sores (herpes simplex), and your treatment area includes the face, begin your prescribed antiviral medication as instructed by your provider to prevent an outbreak.

Come Prepared for Sun Protection

Bring a hat and sunglasses to your appointment to shield your skin from UV exposure immediately post-treatment.

Post-Treatment Expectations

Mild to Moderate Redness, Swelling & Peeling

Your skin may feel warm, red, or tight and start to peel or flake within a few days. Mild swelling is also common, especially around the eyes. These are expected and temporary effects of skin renewal.

Post-Treatment Aftercare

Support healing and protect your results by following these post-care steps:

Avoid Irritation & Heat (7 Days)

For the first 7 days, avoid:

  • Hot baths, steamy showers, or saunas.
  • Exercise, sweating, or excessive heat.
  • Active ingredients like retinoids, acids, or vitamin c.
  • Exfoliation or scrubbing.
  • Picking or peeling the skin- Let any flaking or crusting come off naturally.
Cool & Calm

Apply cool compresses as needed to reduce discomfort or swelling. Sleep with your head elevated for the first 2 nights to help minimize facial puffiness.

Cleanse & Protect the Skin Barrier
  • Cleanse twice daily with a gentle, non-stripping cleanser.
  • Immediately apply an occlusive dressing (e.g., petroleum jelly or Aquaphor) to protect the skin barrier.
  • Continue occlusive care until re-epithelialization is complete—usually around days 3–5.
  • After that, transition hydrating, gentle moisturizer or serum to support new skin.
Stay Hydrated

Continue drinking at least 64 oz of water daily post-treatment to promote circulation and cell turnover.

Sun Protection is Essential

Once your skin has healed (typically around day 5–7), begin applying a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily. Makeup may be applied only once all flaking has subsided and your barrier has recovered.

  • Treatment Frequency

    • Correction Phase: Expect 1–6 treatments, spaced 4–8 weeks apart, depending on your skin concerns and goals.
    • Maintenance Phase: For long-term skin health and brightness, return for 1–2 maintenance sessions per year or as recommended by your provider.
